The traditional color is some shade of blue to ward off evil spirits. This particular shape, freely translated from French, is known as a "Pregnant Lady" and is supposed to confer fertility on the house. Makes a wonderful piece for the garden wall, verandah or in-house wall, with or without the pine frame, with or without plants inside it. |
